Nancy Beaudette has once again been selected as “Regional Finalist” in the Mountain Stage New Song Competition. She was the Canadian Regional Finalist in 2009 and 2010 consecutively. The song she entered is “Silence Tonight” – a powerful message of the peace all Mother’s long for when their songs and daughters are serving in the military.
Now in its tenth year, it’s one of North America’s premier showcases of emerging performing songwriters across an array of genres, and includes regional rounds. Regional round winners are determined by their submitted material, AS WELL AS their live performance ability as determined by their YouTube videos.
The ‘People’s Choice’ Award winner (the regional finalist who ultimately receives the most votes) will also advance to the ‘Award Round.’ A total of twelve ‘Award Round’ semifinalists will be selected to come to New York to perform in the international ‘Award Round,’ held this year on Saturday, October 19 at New York City’s Lincoln Center for the Performing Arts.
