“Peace Date” Video Release

April 21, 2017

“Peace Date” was inspired by an experience I had walking down the street in Cape Town, South Africa this past January. I saw a street vendor singing and smiling, obviously so happy that I had to engage him. I asked what he was singing about and he pointed to the sky saying, “We are light in the darkness.” Nur and I took it from there. Nur Felix is an incredible songwriter/artist from Cape Town and I was honoured to co-write this song with him. Help us spread the message around the world.

You can also buy the MP3 – and when you do, every single penny raised will go towards helping Nur finish recording his CD. Follow this link to donate: http://moonlitpond.com/peace-date/

Last Train Out Arrives Right On Schedule!

July 25, 2016

Screen+Shot+2016-06-25+at+9.18.01+PMWe are pleased to announce that a song Nancy Beaudette co-wrote with Jim and Lynna Woosley will be released on August 4th on their new CD, “Heart and Soul, Blood and Bone”. This exceptional CD is the latest installment from this husband-wife duo. The songwriting, musical creativity, guest artists and performances of these original songs is refreshing and powerful.

The inspiration for the song “Last Train Out” came from Lynna’s memories of her mother Elsie. She took the train many times during her youth, and later in life when she fell ill with Alzheimer’s, would ask if it was time for the train. She lost her battle in 2013 but her memory lives on in this song.

Jim and Lynna’s 2014 release, “The Road That Brings You Home” garnered top placement on bluegrass, americana and folk radio all across the US and Canada, and “Heart and Soul, Blood and Bone” is destined to have no less impact on the airwaves and in collectors libraries.

It’s a fabulous album, available on itunes or directly from the artist’s website.

A Fairy Tale Life? A Musical Premier!

March 12, 2016

A Fairy Tale Life - Curtain CallThe world premier of “A Fairy Tale Life? A Musical” was held at Luther Burbank Middle School in Lancaster, MA on Friday, March 11, 2016, to a full house and jubilant cast and crew.

Award winning Canadian singer and songwriter, Nancy Beaudette, and writer and playwright, Paula Castner, have combined their talents to produce a whimsical play about teenage angst and the role of choices. Ebullient, thoughtful songs and embellished, realistic characters make for an entertaining amalgamation.

Four high school students – Josh, Marissa, Brian, and Kelly – wrestle with dating, making friends, desires versus limitations, and self-esteem. All the while, the Fairy Godmother has brought the Evil Queen to watch the teenage dramas unfold as part of the Evil Queen’s rehabilitation for putting Snow White to sleep. Josh, Marissa, Brian, and Kelly wish their lives could match the fairy tales they grew up listening to, and the Evil Queen blames Snow White for all her problems. How all five come to learn lessons about living will regale audiences of all ages.

Nancy Beaudette Releases New CD

March 31, 2015

CD400_outBlending brave and honest songwriting, first-rate musicianship, and a huge helping of native Canadian wit, Nancy Beaudette is an artist of songs and heart. She was raised near Cornwall, Ontario, a place sustained by farming and millwork where French and English languages were friendly neighbours. Her new CD, “South Branch Road”, delves into those roots, weaving a nostalgic past into lush songs of familial history, good-humored folly and poignant observations of life and loss.

MPR Pleased To Add Shanna Jackman to Roster

August 20, 2013

Shanna CD coverMoonlit Pond Records is pleased to announce the inclusion of New England Recording Artist Shanna Jackman under their umbrella of Artist Support.  Shanna had been best known for headlining the band “Not In Kansas”, but as of Spring 2013, she left the band to focus on a solo career. MPR’s Nancy Beaudette met Shanna a few years back and had been keeping an eye on her progress; the opportunity for collaboration was ripe. There is a growing, and perhaps under-tapped concentration of country music artists in North Eastern United States, and Shanna is at the top of the pack! At the invitation of Nancy,  Texas songwriter Connie Mims climbed aboard the writing team that would take Shanna all the way to Nashville, TN!

The anthem single “We’ve Got Your Back” will be released on September 11th, 2013.

Shanna’s self-title debut EP will be released on September 26, 2013 at the Charlie Horse in West Bridgewater, MA.

The CD will be available on iTunes and CDBaby, and on the Shanna’s website.
