This Reviewer says ‘Nancy Get’s Real’ on her CD Honestly!

April 15, 2012 – Bill Copeland Music News

“Beaudette has come up with an impressive singer-songwriter CD in Honestly. In good form here, Beaudette’s song craft is top of the line, her voice marvelously endowed with texture and feeling, and she brought along fine players to flesh out her creative vision.”

“Nancy Beaudette delivers her gritty singer-songwriter CD Honestly with a grittier backing band behind her. Beaudette prefers her message to come across with pluck and verve and with some edge in her guitar. There is a funkiness in her twists and turns and edginess in her acoustic guitar picking. There are authentic country roots in the songwriting style and in the fine instrumentalists who support this unique singer-songwriter.”

Canadian Artist Records at World Famous Ardent Studios

February 26, 2012

Some people get all the luck, and as it happens, Nancy Beaudette was in the right place at the right time to step into the recording opportunity of a lifetime. She was selected, one of sixteen artists in total, to participate in Ardent Studio’s “16 over 48” – a forty-eight hour, non-stop recording session – held during the 2012 Folk Alliance Conference in Memphis.

Musicians are perhaps notorious night hawks, nevertheless, the 4:30 a.m. alarm was welcomed that morning, as Nancy’s time slot was scheduled from 5 to 7 a.m.

Ardent Studios are located in Memphis, Tennessee’s historic Midtown District, where they house 3 studios within a 10,000 square-foot facility complete with mastering and video editing suites. In their 40+ years, they have hoarded all types of audio gear and have amassed a sizable collection of vintage equipment. Their client roster is even more impressive; Bob Dylan, R.E.M. and ZZ Top are among the many commercial successes that have crossed Ardent’s threshold.

“No Place Like You” was the song chosen to record in the wee hours that February Friday morning, a song co-written with Nashville’s Robin Grant. It is a ballad of longing and second-guessing, penned around imagery of Dorothy clicking her ruby red shoes. No doubt Nancy was clicking her heels, chanting, “There’s no place like Ardent” while working in this famed studio.

Look for “No Place Like You” on Nancy’s next CD due out early in 2013.

Nancy Performs at the Prestigious Bluebird Cafe in Nashville

January 18, 2012 – Nashville

Jeff Anderson, Barbara Cloyd, Nancy Beaudette

Nancy Beaudette followed the lead of her songwriting heros when she took the stage last Sunday night at the Bluebird Cafe in Nashville, Tennessee. The Bluebird Café is one of the world’s preeminent listening rooms and the venue has gained worldwide recognition as a songwriter’s performance space where the “heroes behind the hits” perform their own songs; songs that have been recorded by chart-topping artists in all genres of music.  Located in a small strip mall outside of downtown Nashville, the 100 seat venue is unassuming in appearance but some of the most significant songwriters and artists have performed on this stage. Our reputation as a listening room is based on the acoustic music that is our signature style.  Our patrons repeatedly tell us that they are captivated by hearing songs performed by the creators themselves.

For the past four years Nancy has been frequenting this Music City, performing in listening rooms around town and c0-writing with numerous artists. She will step onto the Bluebird’s Stage again on Sunday, June 10th, 2012.
