Global Peace Song Finalist

Music has the power to speak directly to the heart. It can inspire enlightened awareness and lovingly empower us to see and treat each other as brother and sister. When our souls know such liberation, war as we know it will end and peace on earth will prevail.

The Global Peace Song Awards serves as a search for our world’s most enlightened musicians and songs that can guide the way to peace on earth.

Moonlit Pond Records is pleased to announce that “Peace Date”, co-written by Nancy Beaudette & Nur Felix, is a Finalist in this year’s competition.

The OFFICIAL WINNERs will be announced on SEPTEMBER 21, 2017 – UN International Day of Peace.

Cattaneo & Beaudette Collaboration

June 20, 2017

Nancy Beaudette met Susan Cattaneo in Austin a couple of years ago, a fate which would result in collaboration and friendship. “We’ve co-authored a number of songs to date, but perhaps the most precious was our first, ‘Fade To Blue'”, says Nancy.

We’re thrilled to let you know that Susan included the song on her ‘double-album’ project, “The Heart and The Hammer” which was released this month. Nancy both sings and plays guitar on the track with Susan.

From the first cut to the last, this is an exceptional CD. The songwriting is flawless and Susan’s voice is superb. We hope you’ll add this to your music collection.

“No matter what happens around me, there is an incredible amount of joy in making music with people I love. And that’s what this album is all about: sharing all those different musical experiences and collaborations with you.” – Susan Cattaneo

“Company of Stones” Video Release

May 12, 2017

“Company of Stones” was inspired by Nancy’s familial roots, both French and Irish. “My ancestors have given me such a great gift and I feel honoured to carry on their legacy. I recently had my DNA tested and it’s pretty much spot on with my assumption that I’m a happy mix of UK/Ireland and Western Europe – presumably France. Their struggles and successes are part of me for better or for worse.” Company of Stones was recognized in the 2016 Mid-Atlantic Song Contest along with other songs from her collection “South Branch Road”. Buy the CD on Nancy’s website or download on iTunes today.

“Peace Date” Video Release

April 21, 2017

“Peace Date” was inspired by an experience I had walking down the street in Cape Town, South Africa this past January. I saw a street vendor singing and smiling, obviously so happy that I had to engage him. I asked what he was singing about and he pointed to the sky saying, “We are light in the darkness.” Nur and I took it from there. Nur Felix is an incredible songwriter/artist from Cape Town and I was honoured to co-write this song with him. Help us spread the message around the world.

You can also buy the MP3 – and when you do, every single penny raised will go towards helping Nur finish recording his CD. Follow this link to donate: http://moonlitpond.com/peace-date/

Concert Review for Nancy Beaudette & The Kelly Girls

April 10, 2017

Well, where do I begin? A friend and I were the winners of 2 tickets to go spend a wonderful evening, starting with original songs by Nancy Beaudette, whose lyrics and guitar playing always move me. She sets the tone, with her friendly, smiling, welcoming stage presence, making the audience feel comfortable, relaxed, at home. Then enter the rest of the Entourage, equally at ease, friendly and fun. These gals can play, with tremendous virtuosity, humor, and skill. They manage to breeze thru tongue twisting sea shanties, ballads, and rousing drinking songs with ease, and never fail to lift your spirits, with brilliant harmonies. Chris Hatch especially showed her skills; it seemed she picked up a different instrument for each song, be it banjo, bodhran, guitar, harmonica, you name it, she can play it! These women are quite genuine with their Celtic/Irish/Scottish ditties, and equally adept at every other genre they take up. I was especially moved by the song, “Will You Go, Lassie, Go?”. Reminiscent of expert groups of the ’70’s, like The Shaw Brothers, Clancy Brothers, and what fun that this is an all-gal group. I look forward to their upcoming CD and hope there will be an opportunity for advanced sales. Thanks so much, Darlin’s, for a delightfully enjoyable evening! MORE MORE! Encore!

‘Last Train Out’ Officially Top 10!

February 28, 2017

Moonlit Pond Records is so pleased to tell you “Last Train Out”, a song penned by Nancy Beaudette and Jim & Lynna Woosley, is officially a TOP TEN SONG on the February 2017 Roots Music Report!

The inspiration for the song “Last Train Out” came from Lynna’s memories of her mother Elsie. She took the train many times during her youth, and later in life when she fell ill with Alzheimer’s, would ask if it was time for the train. She lost her battle in 2013 but her memory lives on in this song.

Jim and Lynna’s 2016 release,“Heart and Soul, Blood and Bone”, has garnered top placement on bluegrass, americana and folk radio all across the US and Canada.

It’s a fabulous album, available on itunes or directly from the artist’s website.

‘Sisters of a Different Skin’ Song Release

January 21, 2017

This past December, Nancy had the amazing privilege of being part of the Lucy Stone Singers, a fabulous group of talented women who said YES when Susan Cattaneo put out the call to be part of the recording of, “Sisters of A Different Skin”.

Susan Cattaneo, is an award-winning songwriter and Berklee professor, and a true advocate for women’s rights around the world. Recalling the inspiration for its creation, she says, “This song started as an a cappella voice memo in my phone. Many recent events in the news inspired me to write this song. It feels like it’s an important time to talk about gender equality and empowerment. I had this image of this chorus of women of all ages, races and musical genres singing it. Fortunately, I’ve worked with many wonderful women in the New England music scene, and they all came together to sing it with me.”

All proceeds from sales of the single will go to Girls Who Code, a national non-profit organization dedicated to closing the gender gap in technology. Please support this important organization and buy the song here!
